ENGINEERING INTERN

Propel Engineering, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern to work on various Highway Design projects. This is a great opportunity to experience how engineering is accomplished by a well-respected firm.  Under direction of an engineer, Candidate will perform a variety of basic engineering support assignments that require a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. 

 Responsibilities :   
• Candidate will utilize a MicroStation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, as-builts, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.  
• Candidate will be asked to review technical manuals to become familiar with industry codes, regulatory standards and company policies. 
• Additionally, Candidate will compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings 
• Assignments are designed to help Candidate develop a practical knowledge of the highway engineering discipline. 

Qualifications: 

 
• Must be actively enrolled in a Civil Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of studies and be at a Junior or Senior level. 
• Course work related to highway and transportation projects

HIGHWAY ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER 

Propel Engineering, Inc. (PROPEL) is seeking a Highway Engineer/Project Manager for a senior leadership role in our West Palm Beach/Miami/Orlando office.  PROPEL is a leading transportation engineering firm that provides engineering excellence and exceptional client service.

 Responsibilities:   

• Expertise in the provision of Major and Limited Access Highway design for DOT (Preferably FDOT) and Municipalities.
• Expertise in Geometric Design and the coordination of the different disciplines associated with Highway/Roadway projects.
• Demonstrate leadership, creativity, innovation, prudence and established engineering judgment to provide effective solutions.
• Lead a team of in-house engineers, CADD technicians, and sub-consultants.
• Perform Marketing activities.
• Develop scope of services, negotiate fees and manage projects to deliver a quality project on-time and within budget.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (Florida preferred).
